After the recent launch of Sony Xperia Z3+, the company is supposed to add a new handset to its smartphone lineup. The Japanese multinational is reportedly preparing for the launch of the new Xperia X5 this fall. Speculations suggest that the new phone may be announced at the IFA 2015, which takes place every September.

As expected, the updated versions are more refined and packed with better specs than the predecessor. The Sony Xperia Z3+ sports a 5.2-inch scratch resistant display screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. As reported by Latino Post, the Xperia Z5 will tout a modern design and style. The handset would bear a metal and glass OmniBalance design along with dust and water resistance feature with two versions -- the Z5 Compact and the Z5 Ultra. Venture Capital Post further added that the device will be inspired by Sony’s BRAVIA television with clean front and a frosted glass effect.

While Xperia Z3+ houses a 20.7 mega pixel rear camera and a 5.1 mega pixel front-facing camera, the upcoming Xperia Z5 is expected to have a slightly higher 21 mega pixel camera. It will also come with Sony's Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor, 4K video and HDR recording capabilities. The CMOS sensor also incorporates face detection, geo tagging, panorama mode shooting and touch focus features. The handset will be run on Android 5.0, whereas Xperia Z3+ runs on Android version 5.0.2.

As reported by Christian Today the current Xperia Z3+ is shipped with a 2930 mAh battery, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory storage. The new X5 is expected to come with a super powerful 4500 mAh battery for fast charging. It will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC processor, along with 4GB RAM. The handset may also feature fingerprint recognition technology and house a USB Type C connector. The device will have an internal storage capacity of 128GB, reports Venture Capital Post.
