Selena Gomez's highly-anticipated mature and edgy flick, "Spring Breakers" might be set for a 2013 release. Yet, fans living in Venice might be able to catch some of the early action. In fact, 20-year old Selena is headed there to promote the Harmony Korine-directed film.

Sans Justin Bieber, the former Disney princess, Gomez, headed out to Paris for the anticipated Venice Film Festival 2012. Despite having quite a busy schedule filming her current film, "While I'm Dead... Feed the Dogs" in Monrovia, California, Selena had other duties to attend to.

"Off to Venice for the big première of Spring Breakers!!!" tweeted Selena.

"Spring Breakers" is set to make a world debut on September 5 at Venice. The hype has already affected dedicated Gomez fans. Surprisingly, even Gomez is a bit anxious and nervous for the film debut.

"thank you!! I'm so nervous :o ..Miss you!" replied Selena to a tweet sent out by Taylor Swift which was as follows, "good luck at the Venice Film Festival!! So excited for you!"

Joining Selena in the film are "Pretty Little Liars'" Ashley Benson, "High School Musical's" Vanessa Hudgens", "Rise of the Planet of the Ape's" James Franco and Korine's sister, Rachel Korine. For those living under a rock, "Spring Breakers" tells the story of four college friends who steal money for their spring break. Things go well but with booze, drugs and drug dealers involved, the bikini-clad ladies are in for a hell of a trip.

A short clip of "Spring Breakers" already made its way on the web which showcases a very bored Gomez and a seriously manic, Vanessa Hudgens. The film made a quick debut at the last Cannes Film Festival which had got a lot of people talking.

Originally, doubters had claimed the film being a complete waste of time given the promotional photos were all of bikini-clad ladies. Now, however, with the good feedback from Cannes, almost everyone wants a sneak-peak into the wild ride involving good-girl, Selena Gomez.

"Spring Breakers" will hit cinemas worldwide by 2013 but for those who want to see the film in all its glory, better head to Venice by September 5.
