In 2016, Samsung’s new iteration of Galaxy series remains one of the most talked about topics in the tech world. Unlike Galaxy S6 series, the Korean tech conglomerate is rumoured to launch all the three variants of the Galaxy S7 lineup at one go.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 will debut at an Unpacked Event on Feb. 21. According to an image posted by serial leaker Evan Blass on @evleaks, the smartphone manufacturer will unveil the Galaxy S7 edge as well as S7 edge+ along with the Galaxy S7.

Confirming key specifications, the Galaxy S7 edge recently appeared on benchmarking website AnTuTu. The handset with model number SM-G935A (AT&T variation) was listed with a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The benchmark databases also confirmed that the flagship device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with an Adreno 530 GPU and a generous 4GB of RAM. The device is confirmed to be run on the latest Android v6.0. The specifications mentioned in the AnTuTu listing reaffirmed that the Galaxy S7 edge will house a 12-megapixel main camera sensor coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies.

After much criticism, with the next generation of Galaxy handsets, Samsung is slated to bring back the expandable storage option, which it dropped for the current Galaxy S6 series, Android Central. The new lineup will apparently see a sizeable upgrade of batteries and IP67-rated dust and water resistance.

Recently, based on prevailing rumours and leaks, artist Jermaine Smit published a video featuring Galaxy S7 with a 12MP BRITECELL rear-facing camera. Back in October, previous reports stated that Samsung will team-up with Synaptics for developing a pressure-sensitive technology along the same lines as Apple’s 3D Force Touch.

ClearForce, a biometric force-sensing display technology will provide solutions for variable speed in scrolling, zooming and panning, unlock and wake up, variable gaming control functions and much more. Samsung already worked with Synaptics to introduce the touch-based fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
