For long, prevailing rumours suggested that Samsung will downgrade the camera sensor for its upcoming flagship Galaxy S7 and release the device with a 12-megapixel rear camera. The recent AnTuTu listing for the device do reinforce the fact.

As reported by SamMobile, the Galaxy S7 Edge with model number SM-G935A (AT&T variation) appeared on benchmarking website AnTuTu. The specifications of the listing confirmed that the smartphone will house a 12 MP rear camera sensor along with a 5MP front-facing camera.

However, the camera will apparently have an aperture of f/1.7 allowing low-light photography. Another report in Phone Arena suggests that Samsung may use a large 1/2" sensor to complement the lower resolution camera in the Galaxy S7. Samsung’s flagship devices have been consistently sporting 16MP rear camera units since 2014.

The phone is listed to feature a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Previously, it was rumoured that the edge variant of the Galaxy S7 will sport a bigger 5.5.-inch screen. This leaves a possibility of the S7 edge+ variant to sport a 5.5-inch display screen.

Other specs revealed in the benchmark databases confirm that the most anticipated flagship device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset along with an Adreno 530 GPU and a generous 4GB of RAM. The device is also slated to be run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In the meantime, it is also anticipated that Samsung will bring in three variants of the upcoming Galaxy S7 lineup. The device will come in Galaxy S7, S7 edge and S7 edge+ mentioned noted leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks ) on his official Twitter account.

As compared to the previous Galaxy series, Samsung is expected to bring in notable changes with its upcoming S7 lineup. The high-end new flagship series is speculated to bring back microSD card slot and feature water resistance.
