The Samsung Galaxy S5, the flagship smartphone of 2014 has recorded poor sales. The Samsung Galaxy S6 will arrive in the coming year with upgraded specs compared to the Galaxy S4.

Rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 Specifications

Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S6 with enhanced internal specs as well as external components. According to Android Pit, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in two versions, one will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor and another with octa-core Exynos chipset. The processor will be supported by 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy S6 will come preloaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop and will come in three storage options of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

Android Pit says that the Galaxy S6 won't feature a bigger display but will come out with a 5.30-inch display that supports ultra HD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Like the concept smarpthone, the Galaxy Note Edge, the South Korean tech giant may roll out the Galaxy S6 with dual-edge screen. The Galaxy S6 may come out with a 20 MP Sony camera sensor along with Optical Image Stabilization.

Wall Street Journal has reported that the Galaxy S5 sales were 40 percent less than what Samsung had expected. In this year, Samsung manufactured 20 percent more stock of Galaxy S5 than that of the Galaxy S4 in 2013. However, during the second quarter of 2014, 12 million units of Galaxy S5 were sold whereas the 16 million units of Galaxy S4 were sold in the second quarter of 2013. The net profit of the South Korean tech giant has gone down because of the disappointing sales of the Galaxy S5.

According to Breathecast, the Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus phablet that came out in September this year has managed to achieve rave reviews from general users and experts. Hence, numerous customers have chosen the newly arrived iPhone 6 handsets over the Galaxy S5.

In order to cover up the lost ground and regain its market share, Samsung may strategize the Galaxy S6 launch date earlier than previously set date. Android Pit states that the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date may be scheduled to happen during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 which will be held in Las Vegas on January next year.
