The battery specification pertaining to the Samsung Galaxy S6 was rumoured to be 2,600 mAh unit. But now, alleged screenshots of a sealed battery pack of the said device with the exact 2,600 mAh capacity have been spotted.

The snapshots apparently taken from a Chinese battery factory confirm the battery specification of the Galaxy S6. Interested readers should check out the images from Phone Arena. Reportedly, the images were uploaded via a Weibo post. The sealed 2,600 mAh unit apparently goes by the model number EB-BG925ABE. Interestingly, the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge’s internal codename is reported to be SM-925X and the aforesaid battery unit’s model number also has “925” on it. Therefore, Phone Arena draws a conclusion that the alleged battery pack could very well be the actual battery unit housed in the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge.

On the other hand, the 2014 flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 comes equipped with a Li-Ion 2,800 mAh battery unit. This means that the upcoming flagship will come with a relatively smaller battery unit. However, readers should note that the Galaxy S6 will reportedly be powered by an impressive Exynos 7 chipset, which uses a 14 nm process.

Therefore, the processor may not be as power-hungry as the one housed in the Galaxy S5 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, which uses a 28 nm process. In addition to the battery configuration, Samsung is speculated to use a new type of polymer technology for the battery pack. Moreover, the device is also rumoured to come with the much-required wireless charging capability. With the alleged software and hardware optimisations, the S6’s battery unit should be able to last as long as the Galaxy S5, even with a comparatively inferior battery capacity, notes Phone Arena.

In case, readers would like to know the battery life sustainability time of the current-generation Galaxy S5, here is the low-down: 21 hours of talk time and 390 hours of stand-by time, says GSM Arena. Nonetheless, readers should note that, the South Korean conglomerate has not confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S6 specifications and features thus far.

Meanwhile, Phone Arena recently conducted a poll to see which one among the two upcoming flagships (i.e. Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9) will be a better handset. The poll results show a 61 percent plus voters siding towards the One M9, while a meagre 38 percent plus voters vouched for the Galaxy S6. On that note, which one among the two do you think will be a winner in 2015? Feel free to leave a comment.

In case readers missed it, here is the official teaser of the upcoming device:
