The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 finally addressed a long-running debate on the potential return of flip phones. Seeing how most smartphone makers focused on traditional brick-shaped phones, the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Folder has finally been spotted in South Korea.

Catching a first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 brings back fond memories of old foldable phones that most craved for. Thanks to advances in technology, the latest Samsung foldable phone comes armed with advanced specs that should make it a sleeper of a device to check out.

Among the features the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 has to offer include a 3.8-inch display (720x1280 pixel resolution), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC (1.4 GHz processor), 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB), 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing shooter and a removable 1,950 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

A look at Mobile with Prices shows the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 being offered for AU$360, only valid in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It would still be wise to check out other local shops for actual pricing, something that could be higher or lower.

The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 looms as a lush mid-range handset to consider, perfect for those tired of the standard brick-shaped designed devices most smartphone companies have stuck with. The foldable phone is the closest to answer the belief dished earlier this year that Samsung would be releasing one.

In a previous post from CNet, the foldable Samsung phone was expected to be a mid-range device. It was planned to be able to transform into a 7-inch tablet, which would be shipping by the third quarter of 2017.

Samsung has toyed with the idea of offering a foldable smartphone in the past, something that would be portable and smaller. Paired with the advanced technology most have seen in the latest devices from Samsung (like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge), integrating new features could spark a revolution on how devices would better serve demanding techies.

There have been patents spotted tied up to a potential Samsung foldable phone. Seeing that the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is more of a mid-ranger, there could be more ahead to serve the big spending upper-class market.
