Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov are slated to face-off in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Swiss Indoors Basel. Federer is coming off a win against Denis Istomin, while Dimitrov is coming off a win over Vasek Pospisil.

After being down in the first set, 3-6, Federer bounced back and fought hard in the second set. He broke Istomin in the sixth game to clinch the second set, 6-3. On the third set, Federer was already feeling the pressure in front of his fans from his native land. He was unable to convert on four break points in Istomin's first service game. Federer broke Istomin in the third set, 6-4, to claim the victory in one hour and 48 minutes.

It was Federer and Istomin's sixth meeting. Federer leads their head-to-head record, 6-0.

Speaking after the match via the Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) website, Federer said he knew he was "lacking rhythm" in the first set. He said Istomin had played well. "It was one of those sets that was tough to lose, but the important thing was to bounce back in the second set and get my teeth into the match," Federer said.

Federer faces fifth seed Dimitrov in the quarterfinals. He said that he will have enough time to recover when he play the Bulgarian athlete.

Meanwhile, Dimitrov was also ecstatic with his recent victory of the Canadian Pospisil. He said his goal was to play good tennis and he was happy with the way he delivered in the match. Dimitrov had met Federer in the quarterfinals of the said tournament in 2013. It was the first and only meeting between the two. He lost to the 17-time Grand Slam champion in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (2). Dimitrov also made it into the last eight in 2012.

Even though he lost to Federer in 2013, Dimitrov said he won't be lamenting on trying to do things differently this time. "I just want to go out there and see what I've learned since the last time we played," Dimitrov said. "I am going to go out there and play my game and try to win."
