Princess Sofia of Sweden and Prince Carl Philip are preparing themselves to welcome their first child in April 2016. The couple are receiving lots of tips and advice on parenting from their family and friends. In spite of all the advice, the royal couple have their own strategy.

“I’m taking advice calmly and as it comes. The best thing is not to listen to too much advice!” the 30-year-old princess said, speaking to Swedish publication Svenskdam on Thursday night. Sofia and Carl Philip were attending a sponsored supper hosted in aid of her charity Project Playground.

Sofia told that she was “feeling great” about her pregnancy and revealed that she and her husband have been on babysitting duty for their nieces and nephew, Hello reports. She said that they have looked after Princess Madeleine’s kids, too, when the princess was in Stockholm. Howeversc, Sofia added that since the family has shifted to London it has now become difficult.

Carl Philip’s younger sister Princess Madeleine has two children under two. Her daughter Princess Leonore is 22-month-old, while her son Prince Nicolas is five-month-old. Carl Philip’s older sister Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has a three-year-old daughter Princess Estelle. The Swedish heir to the throne is currently pregnant with her second child.

Madeleine and her husband Chris O’Neill now live in London. The family relocated to the English capital in autumn for due to Chris’ job. Sofia and Carl Philip now spend time looking after their little niece Estelle.

Speaking about her charity supper event, Sofia said that it would help launch her charity in Scandinavia, People reports. She added that it will help newly arrived Swedes on how to integrate their children in the new country. Earlier in the day, the princess said at the Global Child Forum that her baby’s gender will be a surprise.

She attended that annual event along with King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia and her sister-in-law Madeleine, who was in Sweden especially for the forum.

She and her husband had earlier told at the Newark airport that they did not want to know the gender of their baby. The couple took a break from their official commitments in New York and spent some time together.
