Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has no plans of fielding in "three stones overweight" attacker Adel Taarabt amid dangers of getting sent back to the Championship.

The Rs are sitting dead last on the Premier League table with only four points, losing their latest fixture against Liverpool due to an own goal, while the former Tottenham boss can't seem to hide his frustrations that contributed to his side's predicament.

"I can't keep protecting people, who don't want to run about and train, and are about three stone overweight," said the 67-year-old.

"What am I supposed to keep saying? Keep getting your 60, 70 grand a week and don't train? What's the game coming to?"

"He's not fit to play football unfortunately. He played in a reserve game the other day and I could have run about more than he did."

"I can't pick him. I pick people who want to try, who deserve to be at a good football club like QPR, who come in every day and want to work, train and show a good attitude."

"When he starts doing that, if he ever can do it, maybe he'll get a game."

"It's the same old people. We've got two or three of them."

Meanwhile, he brushed off speculations about his future at the club, insisting that he is secured in his post.

"I couldn't give a monkey's about speculation," he added.

"There's no one could do any better here at the moment than me, I don't think."

"I hear other names mentioned, but they couldn't do any better than what I can do, that's for sure."
