Manchester United's chances of landing midfield combo Arturo Vidal from Juventus and Wesley Sneijder from Galatasaray in January are increasing.

The Chilean star, who plies his trade in Turin, has been declared to be a dispensable asset by his club, according to sources in Italy.

In spite of failing to snatch the 27-year-old in the previous transfer window, the Old Trafford hierarchy and supporters can be excited yet again as the Bianconeri are said to be willing to negotiate once their asking price of £28million is met.

Meanwhile, Sneijder, who was one of Louis van Gaal's charges in the Holland squad that finished third in the recent World Cup, is sorting out wage disputes with his side, which might give him the liberty to move on a free-transfer, pursuant to FIFA rules.

"It is true that I did not get the money," said the 30-year-old of his three months worth of salary, costing around £800,000.

"Galatasaray is working to bring the finances in order. My management is trying to find a solution with the club."
