A violent kidnap plot in California ended with the murder of a 3-week-old baby girl. The story took a much dramatic turn after the arrest of the woman, who apparently plotted to steal infants and claim them as her own.

In a joint operation, the police of Long Beach and El Segundo cracked the conspiracy by a woman, who kidnapped two babies -- 3-week-old Eliza De La Cruz and a 4-month-old baby boy. The woman masterminded to fool her boyfriend into believing she had given birth to the couple's twins.

So far, police arrested the prime culprit Giseleangelique Rene D'Milian, 47, on charges of suspicion of attempt to kidnapping and murder. Her alleged partner in crime, Anthony McCall, 29, was arrested for similar charges. The prime suspect’s 30-year-old daughter Charisse Shelton and a 44-year-old man, Todd Boudreaux, were arrested on charges of allegedly helping in concealing the facts of the sinister scheme. All the suspects were taken into custody without bail, except Shelton, whose bail is set at whopping $1 million.

According to police, the gruesome plot started in January this year when baby Eliza’s mother, father and uncle were shot in their home. The infant was kidnapped two hours later but killed as police discovered her body the following day in a beach near the Mexican border. However, the reasons behind baby Eliza’s murder is still unknown, said Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna.

In February this year, the police in El Segundo received a call of an unknown trouble from a hotel, only to find a 23-year-old woman beaten severely inside the hotel room. Later the suspected assailant, who was identified as McCall, fled the scene when the hotel employees came to the woman’s rescue. Her 4-month-old boy was also found inside the room.

The police informed, D'Milian knew the boy’s mother for several years and was aware that she recently delivered a baby boy. D'Milian identified her second victim, Eliza’s mother, through her fake charity network focusing on infants. Last week, the police released the composite sketches of the woman and other kidnappers involved in the case.
