Justin Long and Amanda Seyfried have split after two years of being together. A source hinted that the actress may have initiated the breakup since she is interested in another man.

A source told Page Six that a third wheel may have been involved in the couple’s breakup. Seyfried reportedly has “her eye on a new man.” However, the source didn’t reveal any other details about the other person.

The source further revealed that Long, 37, and Seyfried, 29, split after he expressed his intention to take their relationship to the next level. Long reportedly wants to settle down, but Seyfried was not yet ready.

“He wanted to get married, she wasn’t ready to make the commitment,” the source said.

Another source mentioned to US Weekly that Long is “heartbroken” over the breakup. The couple reportedly split two weeks ago. Another insider claimed that the couple “just grew apart” because of their busy schedules.

Perhaps Seyfried’s social media feed was also an indication of her rocky relationship with Long. Her last post about her ex-boyfriend on Instagram was in June when she greeted him with the message, “Happy Birthday Hunk!” Since then, there were no pictures of the actor. The social media account of Seyfried was filled mostly with photos of herself with friends and family and her rescue dog, Finn, whom E News said has held a special place in her heart since she adopted him in 2009.

Seyfried previously talked about how making a movie can ruin a relationship during a June interview for Vogue magazine. The “Lovelace” star talked about her relationship with Long and also opened up about how it’s nice sometimes to not to be in a relationship.

"I really do have my own identity, both inside and outside the relationship, if that makes any sense. It just feels right. It's also really good to feel OK being alone,” she said.

The ex-couple reportedly began dating in 2013 after Seyfried reached out to the actor upon seeing a funny post on his Instagram account. They went out on several dates afterward but officially revealed their relationship to the public when they stepped out on the red carpet in April 2014.
