ABC and Marvel Studios are expanding their television partnership with a new comedy show called "Damage Control".

ABC network has already ordered a pilot script for the new series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Unlike action dramas “Agents of S.H.I.E.LD”, “Agent Carter” and the darker Marvel TV shows on Netflix, "Damage Control" is set to be much lighter in tone. It is a half an hour single-camera sitcom.

The show will follow the overworked, underpaid crew of Marvel Universe who specialise in “dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from superhero conflicts,” according to the official synopsis of “Damage Control.”

Some of the clean-up jobs that they will have to undertake are returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, rescheduling a wedding venue after it has been vaporised in a battle, or even tracking down a missing prize African parrot that's been turned to stone or goo.

“Sometimes the most important heroes are the ones behind the scenes,” according to the synopsis.

Emmy-award winning writer and producer of “Modern Family” Ben Karlin is writing the script of “Damage Control, David Mine and Marvel Studios’ television chief Jeph Loeb are onboard as executive producers.

The upcoming TV series will be loosely based on the comic book of the same name created by Dwayne McDuffie along with artist Ernie Colon. McDuffie pitched the idea of a live-action "Damage Control" series to Marvel Studios as a “sitcom within the Marvel Universe.”

In the comics, Damage Control is the name of a New York City-based company founded by Ann-Marie Hoag. It was originally owned by Tony Stark and Daredevil’s arch-nemesis, Wilson Fisk. Eventually, Tony decided to leave the company as he felt uneasy working with Fisk, a notorious criminal.
