Kim Kardashian is officially single again.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has been declared legally single by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran during Wednesday's hearing. Following the ruling, the 41-year-old reality star will only use her famous family name and drop "West" moving forward, Page Six reported.

Kardashian appeared at the hearing virtually. The outlet noted that during the video conference, she seemed "happy" despite the difficult subject matter.

During the hearing, the judge asked Kardashian if she wanted to change her name back, and she said, "Yes." When asked if there was a breakdown in their marriage, she gave an affirmative response.

"After the judge read the questions and told her she now has her single status back, Kim smiled," an unnamed source told the outlet.

According to attorney Samantha Spector, West's lawyer, whom he hired last minute after firing his previous counsel less than 24 hours of the hearing, the "Donda" artist had "no issues" with Kardashian getting her name back. However, the "Heartless" rapper was more concerned with his "assets and interest." West wanted to "make sure his trust was protected."

Kardashian's lawyer, Laura Wasser, objected to Kardashian's trust being frozen, arguing that the Skims founder uses the trust for her business. The judge sided with Kardashian on the issue.

West still wanted Kardashian to waive her "marital privilege." If Kardashian were to remarry, it would have granted West permission to call her new husband to testify about his communications with the reality star should they have issues in the future.

West initially objected to Kardashian's request to be declared legally single amid their ongoing divorce. In the court documents obtained by Us Weekly, he stated that he wanted his assets protected via a set of conditions that Kardashian rejected.

West said he would support Kardashian's request if she "will not transfer assets out of any trust." Second, he wanted them to establish a "right of reimbursement," in which either party would be reimbursed monies owed if one of them died.

Kardashian's lawyer claimed the two conditions were "unnecessary" because they signed a premarital agreement. For the third condition, he wanted her to waive her "marital privileges" until they reached a final property and custody agreement on their four children — North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.

Kardashian and West split in 2021. The rapper was still trying to win back the reality star despite dating other women. He was last spotted with Kardashian-lookalike Chaney Jones after his split from Julia Fox. Meanwhile, Kardashian has been dating Pete Davidson.
