The Duchess of Cambridge definitely has a knack for taking wonderful photos. Kate Middleton has once again shown her passion for photography with the recent portraits she had captured of her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kensington Palace released one of the photos through its official Twitter page on June 7 along with the caption, “We're delighted to share the first photo of Prince George with his little sister Princess Charlotte.” Hello Magazine complimented Kate Middleton on how she was able to capture the image of her children in a professional manner. “With perfect lighting and a soft background, the pictures could have easily been taken by pro, proving Kate has mastered her photo taking skills,” the site stated.

The site also credited the Duchess of Cambridge’s profile on the British Monarchy’s official Web site, where it mentioned Kate Middleton’s love for photography among other hobbies including painting and other recreational sports such as tennis and sailing. The Telegraph also described the duchess as “a keen amateur photographer.”

According to UK’s OK magazine, Princess Charlotte’s photos with her brother Prince George were taken in Anmer Hall weeks after the baby’s birth on May 2. The little princess was merely two weeks old when Kate reportedly decided to take the photos in quick succession.

As for their reason in sharing the portraits to the public, a source told The Telegraph that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge felt “a very warm public response when Princess Charlotte was born.” Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly “very much appreciated” this response so as gratitude they had shared their children’s photos with the public. This decision from the royal family reportedly suggests that they are happy with how the media has given them their privacy during their stay at Anmer Hall.

Kate Middleton’s passion for photography was also revealed with this 2012 photo shared by Hello Magazine. This shot of the Mount Kinabalu peaks was taken during the Duchess of Cambridge’s official engagement in Borneo. A photo of the Borneo jungle taken by the duchess was also released to the public. Some of the images taken by Kate during her trip with Prince William in Borneo were artistically taken in black and white, which reportedly prove the duchess’ keen eye in photography.
