A “Jumanji” reboot is slated hit theatres this year. The upcoming reboot takes the formula of the 1995 Robin Williams classic of the same name. Actor Jack Black has shared his thoughts about the film, saying Williams will be proud.

Black told TMZ that he loves Williams in “Jumanji.” He also admitted that they had big shoes to fill. “But I think we did a good job. It's different, you know? It's not a sequel. It's a revitalization,” Black said.

The actor further stated that he thinks the “Jumanji” reboot will definitely honour the memory of Williams. Black hopes that the movie will be as fun for the audiences as how it has been for them during the production.

According to Cinema Blend, they are able to stand on their own in a way that's respectful and honourable to what came before. They were able to do that by going in a different direction.

The “Jumanji” reboot also stars Kevin Hart ("I'm a Grown Little Man), Dwayne Johnson ("Tooth Fairy") and Karen Gillan ("Not Another Happy Ending"). With these actors included, it is safe to say that there is no shortage of comedic talent in the new “Jumanji.” Nick Jonas (" Scream Queens"), Ser'Darius Blain ("Footloose") and Madison Iseman ("Laid in America") are also part of the cast.

The reboot is under the direction of Jake Kasdan and was written by Scott Rosenberg. It follows the story of four teenagers that are sucked into Jumanji's world. The film is expected to be filled with adventures as the characters are pitted against rhinos, black mambas and a variety of jungle traps and puzzles.

Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed the “Jumanji” reboot in August 2015. Filming for the reboot started in September 2016 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The film will blast its way into Australian theatres on Dec. 26, 2017 per Thereelbits.com. “Jumanji” reboot’s release in the US is expected to be on Dec. 22.
