The Golden State Warriors trailed by four points with a little over three minutes to go against the New Orleans Pelicans. As with the previous 15 wins before the game on Sunday they just wanted another W and has now extended their franchise-record winning streak to 16 games beating the worthy challenge of Anthony Davis-less Pelicans with a 128-122 overtime victory.

As usual it was the pair of dynamic scorers in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson who did most of the damage for the Warriors, who also set a franchise-record 10-game win streak on the road. Curry sizzled for 34 points including 6-of-10 three-pointers and also added 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Thompson added 29 markers and even helped on defence with 3 blocked shots.

The Warriors looked poise to win another easy won carrying a nine-point lead, 60-51 at half time. But even without their franchise center, the Pelicans fought back in the third quarter, when they outscored Golden State, 39-28 to tie the game entering the payoff period. Tyreke Evans continued his great game streak logging in 34 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blockeds shots in this one while Jrue Holiday also had a big night with 30 points, 9 assists and 5 steals.

But this night wasn’t all Curry/Thompson for the Warriors as they continue to find heroes either off the bench or the other starters. On this one, Andre Iguodala had his best scoring night for the season finishing with 20 points while adding 5 boards. Draymond Green also had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds while two others scored in double-digits off the bench, Mareese Speights with 10 and Shaun Livingston with a dozen points.

The Warriors outscored the Pelicans, 17-11 in overtime where Curry hit two crucial three-pointers to put some distance from the fighting New Orleans squad.
