Gilbert Arenas Not Surprised With Kemba Walker's Benching

Although it has yet to be officially announced, parting ways with the New York Knicks is on the horizon for four-time All-Star Kemba Walker.

He has been taken out of the starting lineup and relegated to the bench by head coach Tom Thibodeau.

In the opinion of former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas, Walker "should have seen it coming" during an episode of the “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas” podcast.

“As Kemba, you should have seen it coming. You got Derrick Rose over there, coming off the bench. That's Thibs guy. He's proven to Thibs that he's a warrior. He knows how Thibs wants to play. He's done shown what he can do that. You can say he's back,” Arenas explained.

Walker was given the starting nod initially. But with nothing going for the Knicks, the tough decision to use Alec Burks was made.

Now, speculations are growing that Walker is likely to be traded. But as mentioned in a previous report here on IBTimes, the Knicks can only shop the two-time NBA Sportsmanship Awardee by December 15 due to a clause on his contract.

Walker has struggled to deliver for the Knicks after signing the $17 million, two-year deal that the 31-year-old signed last August.

In 18 games, the All-Star guard has averaged only 11.7 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.6 rebounds, a far cry from his previous numbers with the Boston Celtics.

It is an unfortunate situation for Walker, but there are still interested parties inquiring about his service, per Sherrod Blakely of Bleacher Report.
