Floyd Mayweather Sr., the father and trainer of the undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., is looking forward to a potential bout between his son and Amir Khan next year. Although the 37-year-old boxer has not said anything about fighting Khan soon, his father has been pretty vocal about a possible Mayweather vs. Khan fight in May next year.

Mayweather Sr. wants his son to face the 27-year-old boxer and shut him up from all the trash-talking that he has been doing. According to Mayweather Sr., he is not worried about Khan's hand speed because he is confident that his son will be able to counter him with shots every time Khan attempts a shot at the undefeated American boxer.

"Ain't no way in hell you gonna whoop no Floyd. You crazy! Man, lookie here, he [Khan] gonna find out. After Floyd get done putting this whoopin' on your [backside], you ain't gonna know your way across the street. Floyd's gonna punish him," Floyd said according to Fight Hype.

Mayweather Sr. further added that he wants his son to fight not the usual big and tough fighters who lack elite hand speed like Khan. He believes that Khan's skills are match to Mayweather Jr.'s almost impenetrable defence.

Apparently, Floyd Sr. is more excited about the possibility of a Mayweather vs. Khan fight than he is with other fights, even against the Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao. In fact, a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight doesn't seem interesting for Floyd Sr. because he thinks that Pacquiao is too easy for his son to fight.

Meanwhile, the World Boxing Council reported that Amir Khan is hot on the trail of the undefeated American. According to WBC as reported by the Boxing Scene, the Olympic Silver medallist Khan is fast on his feet, quick witted with blazing combinations that are sure to entice great pay-per-view profits. WBC noted that Mayweather might fight Miguel Cotto, Keith Thurman and Khan but made no mention of Manny Pacquiao, who is set to fight the American Chris Algieri on November 22 in Macau.
