The cast of the highly-anticipated sequel to the "The Hunger Games" is halfway complete. Slots for Wiress, Jena Malone and Plutarch Heavensbee have already been filled out. Now, news is that the highly-coveted spot, Finnick Odair, has already been filled out. Who among Hollywood's hottest men managed to nab the role as District 7's incredibly good-looking trident-wielding tribute?

A few weeks ago, Philip Seymour Hoffman officially signed on to the sequel, "Catching Fire". Philip is set to star as Plutarch Heavensbee, the Head Gamemaker of Catching Fire". After the break out in the games, Plutarch moves on to District 13 were he is appointed as the commander of rebel forces which happens in the third book of the series, "Mockingjay".

Jennifer Lawrence comes back for the sequel as Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire. Lawrence will once again be joined by Josh Hutcherson who reprises his role as Peeta Mellark, the boy with the bread, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorn. Though by the looks of it Philip Seymour Hoffman isn't the only person who has officially signed on to "Catching Fire", news is Amanda Plummer has now signed on as Wiress.

For fans who still haven't managed to read Suzanne Collins' second novel in the series, Wiress is the female tribute of District 3. Wiress was crowned Victor in the previous "Hunger Games" which took place 20 years before events in "Catching Fire" occurred. The District 3 tribute gains the nickname "nuts" from competing tribute, Johanna Mason who has allegedly been filled out by "Sucker Punch" star, Jena Malone.

So with the spots of Wiress, Plutarch Heavensbee and Johanna Mason already filled out, what other coveted spots still need A-list actors? One would be the spot of Mags, who is the mentor of Finnick Odair in the book. According to the grapevine, the spot of Mags has been offered to Melissa Leo. Wiress' partner, Betee, on the other hand is offered to Tony Shaloub.

As for the spot for Finnick Odair, news is that Sam Claflin has been eyed by Lionsgate Studio. Reports by Variety claim that the studio is close to offering the "Snow White and the Hunstman" star an offer. The big question is what happened to claims about Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer as the remaining two choices for the role of Finnick?

With the film set for a November 2013 release, filming is set to start by October of this year. Hopefully, Lionsgate manages to complete a worthy cast for the readers and fans.
