NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” host Donald Trump, 69, has recently express his interest in having Oprah Winfrey, 61, as his running mate after he officially announced that he is running for president. He is the 12th and latest Republican to announce White House bid.

In an interview with ABC News, Trump has nothing but praises for Winfrey describing her as a great and talented person and is his friend. He said, “I think Oprah would be great. I’d love to have Oprah. I think we’d win easily, actually.”

This is not the first time Trump considered Winfrey as a running mate. In 1999, “The Celebrity Apprentice” host also declared that he was thinking of running for president as a Reform Party member and he wanted Winfrey to join him.

After Trump announced his candidacy at the midtown Manhattan tower bearing his name, NBC released a statement about the billionaire’s role in “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which has been renewed for season 15.

NBC told Fox News that they will re-evaluate Trump’s role as host of the reality game show “should it become necessary” as they are committed to the franchise considering that networks are prohibited to give candidates biased airtime.

If Trump becomes the next president of the United States, his success will be comparable to that of the late Ronald Reagan, who enjoyed a Hollywood career before becoming a politician. While Trump is known as a real estate magnate, he became a TV personality through NBC’s “The Apprentice” series.

After 10 seasons, “The Apprentice” was replaced by its variation “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which featured celebrities as competing apprentices as opposed to unknown contestants. In the variation, the contestants compete for their chosen charities and not for a job.

The winners of “The Celebrity Apprentice” are Piers Morgan, 50, the late Joan Rivers, Bret Michaels, 52, John Rich, 41, Arsenio Hall, 59, Trace Adkins, 53, and most recently Leeza Gibbons, 57, who beat runner-up Geraldo Rivera, 71, as the season 14 winner in February.

Details on the cast and release date of “The Celebrity Apprentice” season 15 are yet to be announced. Among those who are likely to replace Trump as the host of the upcoming season are the billionaire’s children Donald Trump Jr., 37, Ivanka Trump, 33 and Eric Trump, 31.
