As per Kickstarter, technical specifications include a physical dimension of 24" x 20" x 20", weighing roughly 7.7 kg or 17 lbs and a layer height of 50-350 micron.

Hardware for Cobblebot 3-D printer includes a 76 oz. Nema 17s stepper motors (x5), 12V 30A power supply and linear rails and solid wheels.

Speed

The printer can print as fast as 150 mm per second up to its absolute max of 250 mm per second.

Compatibility and Connections

Cobblebot 3-D printer will be compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. It can be connected via USB or SD card which is included in the package together with the LCD.

The 3-D printer will feature an all-metal hotend, which comes in different nozzle sizes: 0.35, 0.4 and 0.5 mm. Users will also be able to choose filament sizes of 1.75 mm or 3.0 mm.

The all-metal hotend can provide a temperature up to 400° C and can support different kinds of materials like ABS, PLA, nylon, polycarbonate, flexible filament, LayWood, PVA and HDPE. It is possible that other materials can be used, but only the ones mentioned have tested and confirmed to work with the Cobblebot 3-D printer.

Price

The Cobblebot 3-D printer is very affordable and is available for only $299.

"How are we able to get the cost this low? One of our team members is a business attorney with extensive connections in the manufacturing world and has negotiated rock bottom prices from all of our suppliers. And that negotiated price keeps falling based on the quantity we order - This is where stretch goals come in - each stretch goal is based on the amount of orders necessary to get the next lower price from our suppliers. The savings is then shared with everyone with the STRETCH GOAL items (heated bed, filtration case, stepper drivers, etc..)," Cobblebot LLC explains on Kickstarter.

This project has more than 800 backers as of this writing. It also has more than $240,000 and counting, already over its target pledge goal of $100,000.
