Yesterday's reports of the infamous couple splitting up (yet again) now seem to be highly unlikely, after Brown shut down the rumors and claims that the latest breakup is an April Fool's hoax have emerged.

The 23-year-old was interviewed in the Los Angeles hip hop station Power 106 and apparently admitted that he and Rihanna have called it quits. Brown reportedly answered, "Uh, no. That's the short answer," when he was asked by the interviewer if he was still with Rihanna.

The R&B star's reply went viral, and the flurry of rumors of the controversial duo splitting up started spreading over the Internet. Power 106 even backed up the controversy by tweeting, "We wouldn't have tweeted it if it wasn't true."

Turns out, the interviews were nothing but a joke, as it was made last week and the show's producers apparently just combined excerpts of the latest interview with comments from an old footage to make the clip more newsworthy.

"The Power 106 clip (that is going around the internet) is partly new, but then it cuts to old footage, and then back to new again... You'll notice he's wearing two different sets of clothes (in the video)," a source told Hollywood Life.

Brown has also set the record straight in an interview with Matt Lauer in U.S. breakfast show Today, saying he and Rihanna are 'absolutely' a couple and that 'everything is fine' between the two.

Just recently, Brown spoke at length with Ryan Seacrest about reconciling with Rihanna after brutally beating her in 2009, which left the songstress severely bruised and battered.

The Fine China singer also admitted that he has a lot of work to do to prove that he is a changed man and is adamant that he's learned his lesson.

And to put a seal on the media's speculations about him and Rihanna, Brown said, "So as far as me and (Rihanna) are concerned, she knows my heart, and I know her heart. So I'm not really focused on the negative. Everything is positive for me. For me, it's about proving myself to my fans. The only thing I can do is please my family, myself, and please her, you know, and my fans."
