Another chapter is in place in the infamous (former) couple's chronicles: Chris Brown and Rihanna have reportedly broken up.

Brown dropped by Los Angeles radio station Power 106 for a quick interview on March 29. The rapper was reportedly asked if he was still in a relationship with the Stay singer, and he simply answers, "Uh no. That's the short answer."

The 23-year-old musician only just patched things up with Rihanna a few months ago, but the pair is constantly speculated to be on the verge of splitting up. It seems as if the rumours have finally caught up to them now, as Brown confirms the split with Power 106.

Although the full interview hasn't been posted online yet, a representative from the radio station says it will eventually be available for the public to hear for themselves. While some have expressed doubts over Brown's confession, the rep confirms the news saying, "We wouldn't have tweeted it if it wasn't true."

While the volatile nature of the couple's union may have led some people to expect its eventual demise, many fans are shocked of this latest development after both Brown and Rihanna have recently spoken up about their new and more healthy relationship.

"I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident," Brown reveals to Ryan Seacrest in an interview the previous week.

For her part, Rihanna has repeatedly said that she forgives her beau for the highly publicised 2009 incident.

By all accounts, the relationship was going well although plagued with constant rumours of a third party: Dane Cook, Drake and Karrueche Tran, among others. There have even been speculations of an upcoming wedding in Barbados, although neither party have confirmed nor denied it.
