'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 9 spoilers: Winter finale round up; storyline unfolds further after the break; a familiar face returns

“Chicago Fire” Season 5 Episode 8 was the 100th episode of the series. The series is currently on its winter break and will return in January 2017 with the episode titled “Some Make It, Some Don’t.”

“Chicago Fire” Season 5 Episode 9 will feature Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) asking about the things that he has been doing in the past several years. He will have a serious talk with Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) about his thoughts and feelings. The two friends will spend time together before the go back to work at the Chicago Fire Department.

The conversation between Severide and Casey may introduce a much anticipated crossover between “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” The fusion is expected to happen in the second half of “Chicago Fire” Season 5. The details of the crossover episode still remains under wraps, although there are rumours that the remaining episodes of the season will delve more on Kelly, writes TVLine.

The next episode of “Chicago Fire” highlights Severide having been accused in a car accident that caused serious injuries and the death of a child. Kelly will claim that he is actually innocent and was only wrongfully accused, but will struggle to prove it. Much of the available evidence actually points to him as the culprit, so he has to think fast and find some help to avoid being punished for a crime he did not commit.

“Chicago Fire” spoilers revealed that several team members will be concerned about Kelly. They will do their best to help him gather the needed evidence to prove his innocence, as well as look for the person who actually caused the accident. A few friends may also help him make some realizations in his recent deep reflections.

It was also revealed that Laura Dawson (America Olivo) on “Chicago P.D.” will reprise her role on “Chicago Fire.” Laura was previously married to Detective Antonio Dawson before the couple divorced at the end of Season 1. Laura will reappear in Season 5 Episode 12 of “Chicago Fire.”

The series airs next on Jan. 3, 2017 on NBC with the title “Some Make It, Some Don’t.” It will also air on Channel Seven in Australia.
