“The Bachelorette Australia” premiered on Sept. 23 on Channel Ten. Here is a recap of the events of episode 2. International model David Witko was the first contestant to go. He said that he was actually happy not to receive a rose.

In the second episode of “The Bachelorette Australia,” Witko won a single date with Sam. They met at an airport hangar and rode a helicopter to the Sydney Cricket Ground. Sam introduced him to Doug Bollinger of the Sydney Sixers. The task was for Witko to hit the ball that Bollinger throws at him. At one point, Doug told David that he would win a kiss from Sam if he hits the ball. David was successful and looked forward to the prize that awaited him. Later, David and Sam went to an outdoor picnic where the former talked about an “11th box.” Sam gave him a rose.

Back at the mansion, the boys found a group date card with the hint, “leap of faith.” The award would be a one-on-one date with Sam. The challenge was for them to jump off a cliff. Witko refused to join the physical challenge, saying that he has never worn a wetsuit and that the task was not a means to prove himself to Sam.

Afterwards, while on a conversation with “The Bachelorette” Sam Frost, Witko cited that Sam might be searching for someone with a handsome face and a prominent status. However, Sam did not take the comment well. Witko received a lot of scrutiny from her and the rest of the contestants.

Sam said that she is the last person who will date someone just for their status. It was the most offensive statement that anyone could say about her, Frost told Witko. She also said that David misinterpreted the situation and immediately judged her for it. She thought that the 31-year-old male model blew things out of proportion.

Witko later interrupted soccer player Michael Turnbull during his one-on-one talk with Sam. The latest “Bachelorette” ultimately decided that Witko committed too many mistakes early on and should be the one to go first.
