Arsenal will entertain the Queens Park Rangers at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day at 5:30 pm local time. Arsenal have had a mighty struggle all through the season so far. They are presently at the sixth position on the league table, four points below the Champions League places. Queens Park Rangers are on the opposite end of the spectrum with just two points above the relegation zone.

Both the teams are going through a turnaround phase at the moment. In their last five matches across all competitions both teams have won three matches. Arsenal have lost one and drawn one in the other two, while Queens Park Rangers have lost the other two. Interesting to note that both Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers have lost points on their recent away trips, this puts Arsenal at an advantageous position in this tie.

One of the main reasons for Arsenal's troubles have been their long injury list. They still have seven players out with injury concerns. Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are expected to be back after their respective hip/thigh and calf muscle strain injuries. Queens Park Rangers have long term injuries to three of their regulars including central midfielder Alenjandro Faurlin and left winger Adel Taarabt.

In the last 10 corresponding meetings between the two sides four have been won by Arsenal, while there have been three draws and other three were wins for Queens Park Rangers. In the last five meetings at the Emirates, Arsenal have won three, drawn one and lost the other. In the last corresponding meeting Arsenal won by a Mikel Arteta winner late in the match.

Queens Park Rangers have the undesirable distinction of being the team to concede the most goals so far till the half way mark in the league with 32. Even bottom placed Leicester have conceded three less. With a formidable attacking threat Arsenal should be able to punch holes in an already leaky Queens Park Rangers defense. Expect Boxing Day to be a happy one for Arsene Wenger's men as the inform strikers Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez would be licking their lips to face this Queens Park Rangers.
