Apple (AAPL) unveiled a flurry of new products on Tuesday, along with its newest operating system for its iPhones and iPads– the iOS 15.

The new operating system will be available as a free download on Sept. 20, offering an array of new security features and enhancements for Apple users.

After offering a user fix with its iOS 14.8 update, users are eagerly awaiting the iOS 15 release, which promises more features, including a FaceTime capability that allows the ability to watch movies or listen to music while on a call, and they can share their screen using ShareTime.

Plus, FaceTime calls have been improved with a new grid view that will allow for every face to be viewed on a call, and Android and Windows users will be able to join a FaceTime call with an invite for the first time as an added new feature.

There is also a portrait view in FaceTime that blurs the background to allow for better focus on the caller.

Also, with the new iOS 15 are updates to the mobile wallet that gives users the ability to unlock their home, garage, workplace, or hotel with digital keys in the app.

And, depending upon where a user lives, their driver’s license or state ID can be added to the Apple Wallet to be shown in airport security checkpoints in a partnership with a select number of states.

Security was key to the rollout of iOS 15. Apple added a feature called mail privacy protection that hides IP addresses and their location to prevent companies from linking to other online activity. And now senders can’t see when a user opens an email, adding to the privacy level that Apple users have on their iPhone or iPad.

Other features include translation enhancements, camera upgrades, and emoji and multiple messenger picture sending, just to name a few.

The tech giant also announced the new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which go on sale on Friday.

As of Wednesday at 10:54 a.m ET, shares of Apple were trading at $146.98, down $1.14, or 0.77%.
