Xiaomi reportedly sold its entire stock of the 64GB Mi Pad 2 in less than a minute. The Chinese electronics company released the 64GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 in China on Tuesday at 1299 Chinese Yuan or US$203 (approx. AU$275).

The 16GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 was launched last month and was sold at 999 Chinese Yuan or US$156 (approx. AU$211). While the Xiaomi 64GB variant can run on both Android and Windows 10, the 16GB variant only has Android as its operating system, reports Android Authority.

There weren’t many complaints related to the 64GB Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 at the time of its sell-out, except for a few customers who posted about their dissatisfaction related to the device on Xiaomi’s Tablet page on Weibo. However, the company is said to be waiting for the right time to unleash another set of the Mi Pad 2 units, notes a MIUI public forum.

The reason for the sudden surge of 64GB Mi Pad 2 sales in under a minute has raised many eyebrows, though the exact reason is not known yet. Nonetheless, there can be a few potential explanations behind the reason for huge sales of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 device.

The increase of memory from 16GB to 64GB in the Mi Pad 2 has possibly pushed the sales figure of the product. This is because customers are interested in buying electronic products that can offer more internal memory space. Another major reason behind the huge sales figure of the Mi Pad 2 is that the 64GB variant is now using the Windows 10 operating system along with Android operating system, unlike the 16GB Mi Pad 2 variant that used only Android OS at its core, says Android Authority.

In case you are not aware of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 specs, the device sports a 7.9-inch screen that uses 1536 x 2048 resolutions. The tablet is powered by quad-core 2.2GHz processor and 2GB of RAM that ensures smooth speed for the different functions on the device. The slate also features a 6,190mAH battery inside, reports Phone Arena.
