Avid Xiaomi users will have to wait until the end of this year before they can get their hands on the Windows version of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2.

The Android variant, meanwhile, is already out and is doing well in benchmark testing. After all, it did get a score of 85,101 points on AnTuTu. This is very impressive considering only two other handsets managed to get a higher rating, said Android Headlines. These are the PRO 5 from Meizu with 85,652 and the Mate 8 from Huawei with 92,746.

Since news of the Mi Pad 2's benchmark success surfaced online, consumers have started to become excited about this new, promising tablet. It remains to be seen how the device will fare with nonstop consumer usage, however.

The recently unveiled Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 got a very impressive score on AnTuTu and the Chinese tech giant's tablet has been getting a lot of attention since then. Xiaomi's newest tablet has two variants: one powered by Android and the other by Windows, reported Venture Capital Post.

Xiaomi's Mi Pad 2 will boast of a 7.9-inch display and an all-metal build, which happens to be a huge improvement from its predecessor's plastic build, noted Latin Post. It will be powered by Intel's new 64-bit Quad-Core 2.25 GHz Cherry Trail Atom X5-Z8500 processor in collaboration with Intel's HD Graphics GPU. It will get 2 GB of RAM and host a 6,190 mAh battery.

With regards to camera features, the tablet will sport an 8 megapixel primary shooter and a 5 megapixel selfie taker. Word has it the tablet will also be among the first mobile devices to feature a USB Type-C port.

The Mi Pad 2 from Xiaomi runs on MIUI 7. Its 16 GB model costs $213 while the 64 GB counterpart is priced at $277.
