There will be more weddings in "Winds of Winter," as confirmed by the author George R. R. Martin. As the fans of the series know, a wedding Westeros is not to be missed. Here is a look at some of the eligible characters who could get married in the next book.

Some of the major characters that fans expect to see getting married include Cersei Lannister, Aegon Targaryen, Jamie Lannister and Sansa Stark. Readers should note that not all marriages in Westeros are based on love. Many of the marriages are political alliances aimed at maintaining or enhancing the power of a House.

The House Lannister currently holds the reins of power through the young king Tommen. They however need the support of the House Tyrell in order to sustain their rule. The House Tyrell is the only other house that can match the Lannisters in terms of men and resources, according to the late Tywin's assessment.

Will Cersei Lannister marry Loras Tyrell in "Winds of Winter"? The relationship between the two families is now plagued with suspicion and rivalry. After the recent events involving the Cersei's confession, marriage may be difficult.

Aegon Targaryen is looking to get married to garner support for his claim to the Iron Throne. Some of the members of the fan forum Westeros agree that Aegon will marry in "Winds of Winter." The popular choice for bride seems to be Sansa Stark.

Sansa Stark is currently with Petyr Baelish. She is the key to the kingdom of the north. If Sansa marries Harrold Hardyng in "Winds of Winter," she could also be the key to the Vale in the future. The sickly boy Robert Arryn is the current heir to the Vale and in the event of his death without a son of his own the right to be Lord of the Vale falls on Harrold's shoulder.

The other character that some of the fans like to see get married is Jamie Lannister. The character can't technically get married because a knight of the Kingsguard is not allowed to get married. But readers should remember that the only reason that he chose to be a knight in the service of the king is to be close to his sister.

But with relations between Jamie and Cersei deteriorating will he finally leave the Kingsguard? Jamie was a changed man after meeting Brienne of Tarth. Will "Winds of Winter" see the two characters get married?
