Mesut Ozil of Arsenal was reportedly unhappy with his role with the English club and might see a probable transfer come January 2015 according to initial reports However, the 25-year-old quashed the rumours rather quickly after a post on his Twitter account saying that he plans to stay long-term with the Gunners.

Ozil is suffering a minor knee injury and could miss up to three months. The rumours rooted from the fact that Ozil was playing different positions in Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s scheme and was deemed unhappy because the German preferred to attacking forward position.

Ozil played for Schalke 04 from 2006 to 2008; Werder Breman from 2008 to 2010 and Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013. He was acquired by Arsenal for a club record of £42.5 million in 2013.

Ozil is a member of the German National Team since 2009 and was part of the champion team which recently won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

According to the Daily Mail, German club team Bayern Munich are interested in Ozil’s services and will bid around £30 million to acquire the German star. With one tweet, it appears Ozil is staying long-term with Arsenal after all.
