Actor and singer Jared Leto has been focusing on his music career after receiving his Oscar win as "Best Supporting Actor" for the "Dallas Buyers Club" film. The latest reports surrounding the upcoming "Suicide Squad" film claim that the 42-year-old Hollywood star is being eyed as the potential actor portraying the role of "The Joker" in the Warner Bros. and DC Comics movie project.

The other actors reported to be in different stages of discussions to star in "Suicide Squad" include Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jesse Eisenberg, who is expected to reprise his role as Superman's archenemy Lex Luthor.

The upcoming film based on the DC Comic will follow the story of a group of supervillains given a chance to redeem themselves but they must go on a mission that could possibly kill all of them. A Mail Online report revealed that "Suicide Squad" has been recently announced as the first Warner Bros. and DC Comics project following the "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" film directed by Zack Snyder.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, Jared Leto shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he has his eye on one project. Additionally, the Academy Award-winning actor expressed excitement over his new movie project that will surely keep him busy aside from his music career.

Jared Leto revealed that he is looking forward to working on films again now that his tour is wrapping up. The actor added that he is very grateful when it comes to the incredible opportunities out there for him.

"I am excited about what's happening. It's going to be an exciting 2015," Leto shared. However, the actor remained tight-lipped when further asked about the new movie project.

The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman admitted that he has sworn to keep his mouth shut. However, Jared Leto is certain that there will be something to be discussed very shortly. "Suicide Squad" is scheduled to be released on Aug. 5, 2016.
