A new report about the first "Star Wars" spin-off has surfaced online. It has been reported that an independent movie around Hans Solo is being planned. Reportedly, Gareth Edwards' much-talked about 2016 "Star Wars" standalone movie is the one which will revolve around Hans Solo.

Jason Ward of MakingStarWars has revealed the possibility of a Hans Solo standalone movie. He quoted the information from a friend, which says that the code name for the spin-off is "Luminac Industrial Goods" and its filming will commence with "Star Wars Episode VIII." It has also been reported that "Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul will be attached to the film, though it is not known what role he will be playing.

According to Slash Film, the shooting of Edwards' movie will take place at the Pinewood studio, after James Bond movie "Spectre's" filming is over. Solo is the chief figure in the Alliance in the "Star Wars" movies. He is a loner, who over the course of time, realises the importance of being in a group. He and his co-pilot Chewbacca, who is a tall hairy native of the planet Kashyyyk, become a part of Rebel alliance to restore the ideals of Old Republic.

Meanwhile, a new "Thank You" video, released by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens'" production team, shows actor Ian Whyte in a black suit, with black make-up around his eyes. It is being speculated that he is doing stunts for Chewbacca. He could also be doing stunts for another alien, if not Chewbacca. In other interesting news, it has been reported that Oscar winning star Lupita Nyong'o's could play an "elderly, female alien with orange skin" in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," according to StarwarsUnderworld. The name of the actress' character in the movie has yet to be revealed. For now, she has been given a code name, Rose.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill will be reprising their roles. The film is being directed by J.J Abrams and is slated to release on Dec. 18, 2015.
