Another Kim fills ex-Pixies bassist Kim Deal's shoes, after she left the band last month.

Kim Shattuck joins the Pixies on an upcoming European tour, which will kick off on September 29th in Paris.

Shattuck leads the Los Angeles punk outfit the Muffs. She has been in the L.A. Paisley Underground indie scene since the '80s playing for the all-female band, Pandoras.

The Pixies tour will last for three months in more than 10 countries and closes in the U.K. on November 24.

"Along with everyone's favorites, we'll be playing songs that we haven't played in ages or never played live before," frontman Black Francis said.

"We've probably rehearsed some 80 songs, so we'll be able to change up the set at the last minute if we feel like it. We're all really looking forward to this tour."

Just last week, the band released their first new song in nine years. Deal wasn't involved in the Pixies new song "Bagboy", however, the backing vocals sounds like her.

According to a spokesperson for the band, it is guitarist Joey Santiago and drummer David Lovering singing backup.

Stereogum reported that Black Francis wrote the lyrics at Starbucks in Harvard Square and recorded with the band last autumn in Wales.

Looks like Australian fans will have to wait further when the Pixies will perform in the country. Watch the band's new music video instead and enjoy their latest offering:
