“Outlander” Season 3 will be the end of one of the biggest characters on the show. Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore confirmed in a recent interview that the character’s role will soon come to an end, as the story moves on beyond the third book by Diana Gabaldon.

[Spoiler alert]

Frank (Tobias Menzies) is already dead in the TV series. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Moore confirmed that Menzies’ role “will come to an end relatively soon.” The actor will be seen again in the next season. But, after that there are only “occasional flashbacks” to Black Jack and Frank.

The role of Frank and Jack “pretty much ends in book 3,” Moore confirmed. After adapting the book “Dragonfly in Amber,” the producers will now look at the storyline in the series titled “Voyager.”

The cast and crew had to say goodbye to quite a few characters in the second season. When asked who he would miss the most while filming “Outlander” Season 3, Moore said that it would be Duke of Sandringham (Simon Callow). The producer said that the Duke was a “great character” and that he would “lament his loss.”

The last time viewers saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) she was an older woman with a grownup daughter. Fans will now get to see an older Jamie (Sam Heughan) in the next season. However, that doesn’t mean that the younger versions of the main characters are gone forever.

According to a report by EOnline, there will be flashbacks in the next season that will show the fans what exactly happened during the Battle of Culloden. The flashbacks will reveal what happened to Jamie, during and after the battle. So, viewers will still see the younger version of the Scottish warrior.

“Outlander” Season 3 will take the viewers to new “exotic locations” and introduce new characters. The fans will also get to see more of Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin), but they may not be featured in many episodes.
