Nokia has released its newest flagship Lumia 930 with much anticipation. But, is it really better than its predecessor Lumia 1020? Below are the specs to help you decide.

Aesthetics

Nokia Lumia 930 is bulkier with a 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.39 inch dimension and weighs 167g while Nokia Lumia 1020 has a 5.13 x 2.81 x 0.41 dimension and significantly lighter at 158g.

Lumia 1020 is aesthetically unique with its round and bulky camera at the back. But, Lumia 930 is more stylish and sophisticated with its metal, plastic and curved glass tastefully fused together.

The back of Lumia 930 is made of plastic with a matte finish, available in black, white, orange and green. On the other hand, Lumia 1020 is offered in yellow, white, black and red.

Screen and Display

Lumia 930 offers a wider AMOLED screen at 5 inches with a better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 ppi pixel density). Lumia 1020 only has a 4.5 inch screen with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels (332 ppi).

Performance

When it comes to the operating system and chipset, Nokia's latest flagship definitely upgraded.

Lumia 930 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore 2.2 GHz processor while Lumia 1020 is only powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core 1.5 GHz. Both has 2GB of RAM. Lumia 930 is running on Windows Phone 8.1, which is now made available to Lumia 1020.

Camera

Lumia 930 might have better display and performance, but Lumia 1020 still holds the best camera unit among the line of Lumias. The former possesses the same camera as Lumia 1520 with 20MP sensor while Lumia 1020 has the massive 41 MP. That bulky camera is not just for nothing.

With 6x digital zoom, Lumia 1020 is definitely a winner. At least for this round.

Battery Life

Despite Lumia 930's larger 2420 mAh battery pack, Lumia 1020 still offers a longer talk time of 13 hours and 20 minutes. Lumia 930 only offers 11 hours and 20 minutes of talk time.

The Ultimate Decree

Lumia 930 is better in terms of style, performance and resolution. But, Lumia 1020 still offers the best camera.
