For all camera lovers and for those waiting for the latest Canon EOS 7D, Canon has made an announcement that a new addition would be made to the many DSLR's. The EOS 7D Mark II DSLR camera would soon hit the market with several new features and specifications that are an improvement to the previous models.

This announcement made at the Photokina imaging show comes five years after the launch of the Canon EOS 7D in 2009.

The specification and features of this camera are extremely good, aimed at giving photographers the quality and reliability they are looking for in the camera. The frame rate can be lowered to a tenth of a second. For videographers wanting to buy the camera, there are improved and highly beneficial features, such as 60p full HD recording and a 65 point auto focus system. The mini HDMI output can export footage to an external recorder, this includes audio as well.

Though there are new technical upgrades the resolution is the same as the previous model, a sensor of 20.2 APS-C CMOS megapixel. The CMOS sensor is designed to work with dual DIGIC 6 image processors. In burst mode it has the ability to capture 10 frames per second and is able to repeatedly process 31 RAW images or 1,090 JPEGs at full resolution.

It has an ISO ranging from 100 to 51,600 that allows for shooting in low light conditions. Canon states that the model is highly improved for low light shoots. The autofocus is quicker and can track subjects in video mode. Canon also said that the view finder would show 100 per cent of the scene.

Providing even more reasons to await the release of the 7 D Mark II cameras, the company stated that it has two memory card slots. One SD card slot that is suitable for ultra-high-speed (UHS) cards and a CompactFlash. The USB 3.0 port is for storing the pictures.

It has a built in GPS as well that allows the user to geo tag photos.

The build is strong; the magnesium-alloy body is dust and water resistant. It will go on sale in November and only the body would cost you $1,799. Additional accessories such as a wireless transmitter and a battery grip come with it too.
