The upcoming reboot for “Need for Speed” is coming in early November for new-gen consoles and the PC. Fans eager to get their hands on the title shouldn’t have to wait too long as developer Ghost Games will give them a taste of the game with an upcoming closed beta.

A new page on the official website of “Need for Speed” has opened to let players pre-register for an upcoming free closed beta for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PC players may have to wait as developer Ghost Games did not state when and if the PC version will be getting a closed beta as well.

Like how most beta runs go during the pre-release phase of video games, “Need for Speed” developer Ghost Games has come up with the beta so the team could perform technical tests before launch. Closed betas are usually used to find kinks in the game so that the end product is polished and issue-free.

Players who want to sign up for the closed beta will be directed to a page containing terms of agreement that they have to approve first. The terms include a disclaimer which states the game is in the beta stage, so players should expect a lot of issues.

The registration will be closed on Friday. However, not everyone who signs up will be given access to the game, and the chosen few will be notified by email with instructions on how to start playing.

"The space is limited so we may not be able to accept all players who register," Ghost Games has stated on the terms of agreement.

The “Need for Speed” reboot launches on Nov. 3 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. According to GameSpot, Ghost Games is willing to support the game for a long time as it will be releasing tons of post-launch DLC.
