Speculations are rife that Microsoft will be launching a successor model for Surface Pro 3 that was released in June 2014. Though it is being referred to as Surface Pro 4, Microsoft is yet to reveal the name of the product. Surface Pro tablet manufactured by Microsoft is a hybrid of tablet and laptop that can compete with Android and iOS powered tablets and phablets.

In October, there were rumours that Microsoft is considering the discontinuation of Surface Pro tablets. However, the Redmond based software giant had rubbished all the rumours by indicating that the new Surface Pro 3 accessories will be compatible the future Surface Pro series tablets that will probably roll out in mid-2015.

According to Christian Today, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be the first tablet to be shipped with Windows 10 OS consumer edition. The Surface Pro 3's popularity is growing constantly. This can be understood by comparing the revenue generated by Surface devices in this quarter with the same quarter in 2013. The present quarter revenue status shows that Surface product business has jumped to $908 million. Last year, it made revenue of $400 million in the same quarter.

Since the current Surface Pro 3 is doing very well in the market, it would be too early to talk about the Surface Pro 4 features. However, according to Master Herald, the Surface Pro 4 will come out in more than one size. There will be a smaller edition of the tablet called the Surface Pro Mini which will be an 8-inch product. This will allow Microsoft to take on the similar sized tablets from Apple, Google and OEMs.

Gospel Herald states that since the new accessories designed for Microsoft Surface Pro 3 will also be compatible with Surface Pro 4, which is a clear indication that its dimensions and the design will be similar to that of the predecessor model. However, Master Herald also states that the successor model will also have a variant that will sport a larger display. The Surface Pro 4 a 12-inch display, but the Surface Pro 4 may roll out with a 13-inch or 14-inch display. As of now, all the current Surface Pro 4 rumours have not been confirmed by Microsoft.
