Alex Ferguson is set to make a $12 million transfer deadline to steal Celtic's midfielder Victor Wanyama. Well, $12 million doesn't sound so bad, most especially if your team is the most expensive team in the world today valued at $3 billion.

The January transfer window is about to close and team managers and negotiators are making their last and final moves to close deals. Both Manchester United and Arsenal have kept their eyes on the Kenyan midfielder for this season. They were incredibly impressed with Victor Wanyama's role in the Celtic's 2-1 win over Barcelona.

But Celtic's are likely to decline Manchester's offer since Wanyama is an important key player for the team in preparing for the Champions League.

But according to Kenyan FA President Sam Nyamweya, Wanyama would be quitting from the Celtic's before Kenya's friendly match with Libya. He said that the young midfielder is interested in joining a football powerhouse.

"Wanyama will soon be joining one of the big two clubs in the world. It is an exciting moment for us, which means that Kenya is a powerhouse in football," Nyamweya said.

ESPN reports that Sir Alex Ferguson watched the Kenyan player during the Celtic's 4-0 win against Dundee United last week. This even fueled speculations that Manchester United may be welcoming Wanyama as a midfielder soon.

But apart from Wanyama, Mancherster United is also said to be interested in signing PSV Einhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman. The Dutch international midfielder was dubbed as one of the greatest talents in Europe. Strootman has also been scouted by Arsenal and Tottenham last December.

Strootman who is hailed as "the next Mark van Bommel" has a value of $27 million by PSV. It's definitely a lot more than Wanyama might be leaving the Celtic's for. But is Sir Alex Ferguson would be able to close the deal of either one, any of the two would be an advantage for Manchester United.
