Los Angeles Lakers guard Jeremy Lin saw up close and personal how his former teammates and superstars New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony and Houston Rockets' James Harden operate. This early, he has seen how one of the greatest minds of basketball, Kobe Bryant, approaches the game. The man who triggered Linsanity in New York was candid on his thoughts on what cuts Bryant above his former teammates.

As reported by LA Daily News, Lin pointed out the difference in methods of the Black Mamba as compared to his former superstar teammates.

"How hard he works and his attention to detail." Lin said of Bryant. "The stuff that he thinks about or talks about, only someone who is really trying to analyze every single thing about the game would be able to understand something like that."

Lin was speaking to reporters after the Lakers' 98-95 pre-season win over the Denver Nuggets in San Diego Tuesday. With Kobe just coming back from a initially perceived career-ending Achilles injury, the five-time NBA champion has bounced back well and is out to prove critics wrong. Bryant has been somewhat annoyed by talks that the Lakers are again destined for the lottery season and the focus on his diminished skills due to the injury. Lin has pointed out that his character and attitude towards the game is what sets Bryant apart and will bring continued success to the franchise. Lin, along with Bryant, is hoping to turn around the Lakers' fortunes this season, after suffering the worst regular season record in franchise history last year.

The latest game did that just and more. The guard out of Harvard was dismal in the points category during the said pre-season tune-up but displayed his passing ability as he dished out 10 assists. Ed Davis was the beneficiary of most of the cut and drives of Lin which freed up the big man. Kobe Bryant also showed no rust from the year-long layoff producing 13 points on 5-12 shooting in 21 minutes of action. New head coach Byron Scott was also all praises for Lin as he mentioned out the guard and said that he made a great job of "orchestrating the offence." Lin understood the importance of involving his teammates and knows the he and Davis will be featured more in the upcoming pre-season games.

"Sometimes you don't always need to score or get as many assists," Lin said. "As long as you're aggressive, something will open up."
