Jarryd Hayne fans would probably not see any “Hayne Plane” action for this Holiday season, but the Australian rugby league star, despite his setback is still getting into the spirit of Christmas with the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite his setback with San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad, Hayne seems to be happy spending his Christmas and probably for the rest of the season on the team’s practice squad. Hayne revealed in a recent interview that he is still optimistic of getting back into the 49ers active roster, and will be ready if he gets called up.

"I'm very confident, so much more confident than when I was out on the field before,” Hayne told the Sydney Morning Herald. “It put me in good stead, my biggest thing is just training hard and what comes about, comes about."

However, Hayne, who sacked from his punt return role last month after committing three muffed punts in six NFL regular season games, appears to be continuously overlooked by coaches.

Bruce Ellington, who replaced Hayne for the punt return role and has dropped the ball three times in three consecutive outings, was given a final warning by special teams coach Thomas McGaughey prior to the 49ers’ 26-20 win over the Chicago Bears. But McGaughey seems to back out a bit after San Francisco managed a victory.

“It’s about getting the problem fixed and at the end of the day, that’s what we’re about,” McGaughey said, reports Fox Sports. “We’re in the problem-solving business and that’s why they call us coach, we’ve got to solve problems.”

With four games remaining in the 2015-2016 NFL regular season for the 49ers, it could be wise for the team to give Hayne some action to test his improvement after spending a month in the practice squad. Hayne has claimed he has improved his skills and is “very confident” to play again on the field. It is time for the 49ers to test the “Hayne Plane” and give the fans a Christmas treat.
