HTC is focusing on its mid-range HTC One A9 phone, offering it at a discount while making the most of its looking similar to but different from the Apple iPhone 6s. Customers in the UK can buy the HTC One A9 at the lower price of £429.99 (AU$915), which still makes the mid-range handset a bit pricey for its segment but cheaper than high-end phones like the iPhone 6s it stacks-up well against.

In the U.S., early buyers of the HTC One A9 can buy the phone for only $400 (£265) off-contract until Nov. 7. After this date, the price jumps to $500 (£322).

If you can afford the price and plan to have the new device, read the review below:

Design

There’s an uncanny resemblance between the One A9 and Apple’s iPhone 6s, but familiarity doesn’t necessarily make the One A9 a clone. In many ways, the A9 is a classic looking phone in its own right; is surprisingly slim and feels great when held.

With 146 mm x71 mm x 7.3 mm measurements, the phone weighs a mere 143 gram but fits a small microSD slot along with a microUSB port at its side. Made out of metal, the phone creates a smart look that you’ll love, reported V3.

Display

The phone’s 5.0 inch display packs 1080 x 1920 pixels with 440 ppi per pixel density. It’s also got Amoled screen technology with a multi-touch feature embedded, a proximity sensor and light sensor. The Corning Gorilla Glass screen is scratch-resistant.

Camera

Be an expert photographer with its 13 MP rear camera fitted with dual LED flash and 4 MP front camera for great selfies. Options like Face Detection, Digital Zoom, Smile Detection, Voice Activation, Touch to focus, Geo tagging are available on the One A9. If you’re a camera person, the HTC One A9 is apt for you.

Hardware

The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 8952 that ensures many advanced features for professional work. Expect good speed owing to its Octacore 1500 MHz processor. Store as much as you want (movies or videos) since the phone comes with 32 GB built-in memory expandable to 2000 GB via microSD.

The 6.0 Android HTC sense 7 UI operating system in the phone goes a long way to ensuring good performance. The OS is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You can count on its 2150 mAH battery for long hours of operation without break, said Phonearena.
