“Homeland” Season 6 is still in development, but the initial photos from the set recently surfaced, showing Quinn (Rupert Friend) looking entirely different. Carrie (Claire Danes) was also spotted in New York.

Spoiler alert! This article contains "Homeland" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

On Aug. 18, 2016, Carrie was spotted on the set of “Homeland” Season 6, looking beautiful, albeit somewhat stressed. Quinn, on the other hand, looked much dirtier, with longer and disheveled hair and ill-fitting clothes. He is very much alive, however, which would certainly delight many fans who thought that he died at the end of “Homeland” Season 5. Showrunner Alex Gansa mentioned that Quinn is alive, although it was still uncertain in what form.

Quinn suffered a major stroke in “Homeland” Season 5, so he has changed very much and will most likely exhibit new behavior in “Homeland Season 6. Alex Gansa revealed that Quinn will represent a very profound and familiar casualty of the war on terror.

What the character went through in the previous year will be different from the challenges that he will have in the new season, when it comes to Carrie. Gansa did not yet present what Quinn’s new condition will be, but there are speculations that he may at least suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD.

Hollywood Life notes that not a lot of details about “Homeland” Season 6 have been provided yet, but the show has already been given the go signal for a seventh and eighth season. The setting will move back to the United States in New York, happening during the interim period when the previous U.S. president exits from office and the newly elected head of state comes in. Gansa shared that “Homeland” Season 6 will feature New York City adjusting in the aftermath of 9/11.

Claire Danes said that New York is a very fertile territory for “Homeland” Season 6. The show is again moving toward the most compelling event in American culture. She explained that “Homeland” Season 6 will be about being reborn and believes that viewers will be engaged by the new story. “Homeland” Season 6 is set to launch on Jan. 15, 2017 on Showtime.
