Disney Channel may have said no to “Girl Meets World” season 4, but that does not mean that it is going to be the end for the series. Series co-creator Michael Jacobs is backed up by fans as he finds a new home for the show.

Fans remain hopeful for the show’s renewal in a different network. A campaign was launched for the series to be picked up by Hulu, Netflix or other channels.

As of this writing, no development has been announced as far as the fourth season of the show is concerned. But it would be too early to tell that hope has run out for the show. Jacobs has assured fans that the decision may be announced after three to four months.

And it is likely that three to four months is the only time that fans need to endure to get news about the show’s ultimate fate. “I don’t think this thing can go on three or four months without a decision. I think it will be sooner rather than later,” Jacobs told the Wrap.

The show co-creator is grateful for the fans' continued support for the series. For their love of the show, fans have come up with the Paper Airplane Campaign to push for the series’ renewal in a different network. Jacobs said it is something that fans have decided to do.

Furthermore, the show co-creator has teased fans about what a possible “Girl Meets World” season 4 might be like. When asked if the show’s fourth season will have a different tone now that it won’t be on its home network, he seems to be sure about his reply. “Yes. One of the things about meeting the world is that sometimes you will make a mistake. And I think that’s been part and parcel to so many of our stories,” he teased.

In the last episode titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," Danielle Fishel (Topanga) decided to refuse the job offer in London. She, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), Ben Savage (Cory) ended up staying with their friends. If the season will be renewed, viewers can expect to see what happens next, after Riley's family chose not to leave.

Jacobs’ motivation for pushing for season 4 of the series is the audience. “In the end, we’re doing this for the audience,” he said. He added that it is the relationship with the fans that would spur him and the rest of the people involved in “Girl Meets World” to continue if they would get the chance. Jacobs is also known for other television series like “Dinosaurs,” “Lost At Home” and “Boy Meets World.” "Girl Meets World" was nominated Outstanding Children's Program for Primetime Emmy.

The series aired in Australia through Disney Channel. With Jacob’s assurance, it is expected that the fate of the beloved series will be known in the future.
