IPL champions Kolkatta Knight Riders continued their unbeatable run to 11 matches in the T20 cricket format when they beat Lahore Lions by 4 wickets with 3 balls to spare on Sunday in a Group A CLT20 match.

With the target being 152, Kolkatta was off to a rollicking start as the openers soon raced to a 100-run stand in the 13th over until Robin Uthappa fell for 46 runs scored in 34 balls (4X4, 6X2). Captain Gautam Gambhir was the next to depart but not before scoring a valuable 60 runs in 47 balls (4X8). Kolkatta had a slight scare thereafter as wickets kept falling one after the other. But Suryakumar Yadav persisted and helped his team reach the target. Lions' spinners were ineffective as the Kolkatta openers easily scored off them.

Earlier in the match, Lions also were off to a good enough start. Their openers shared an opening wicket partnership of 50 runs. Nasir Jamshed was the first to go. Ahmed Shehzad was the top-scorer during the first innings collecting 59 runs off just 42 balls (4X5, 6X4). The other batsmen did not flourish except Umar Akmal, who scored a respectable 40 off 24 balls (4X3, 6X2) to make his team reach the score of 151/7. Kolkatta's Sunil Narine was the most successful bowler of the match taking 3 wickets conceding just 9 runs off 4 overs and also winning man of the match award. (See scoreboard)
