Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas vowed to play his best against his former club, Arsenal, in their upcoming matches.

The former Gunners skipper, who moved to north London at a tender age straight out of the La Masia academy in 2003, went on to spend eight, generally, successful seasons as a member of Arsene Wenger's squad.

While Arsenal has a special place in his heart, he revealed that he is duty-bound to perform according to the best interest of the Blues.

"I will always have the feeling of being a Gunner. I know when I go back to play at the Emirates it will be a special moment," said the 27-year-old.

"But I am a committed guy. I remember playing for Arsenal against Barcelona in a Champions League final, and swearing that I'd do anything to win that game - despite having been with Barca since I was a kid.

"So when the Arsenal game comes around I will know who I'm playing for, who my teammates are and who I have to defend against."

And such being a part of his professional obligation, he knows that supporters at the Emirates will not take it personally.

"I know that the Arsenal fans will understand me. I have no doubts," he added.
