Ron Perlman has been roped in to play the bad guy in episode 9 of "The Blacklist" Season 2. This episode is scheduled to air on Feb. 1, 2015 after the Super Bowl. After that, "The Blacklist" Season 2 episodes are set to air on a new time slot on Thursday nights. It is no longer "The Blacklist" Monday Nights.

TV Guide has revealed some details about this "next mega criminal." According to the report, Perlman is portraying the character of Luther Braxton. The report describes this ruthless character as a "meticulous thief who plans his heist over the course of several months or years." He creates "diversions" and "chaos" to obtain what he wants.

Meanwhile, TV Line has reported that a casting notice is seeking "star names" for a character called Jasper. This character is expected to appear in multiple episodes after getting introduced in episode 9. According to the report, Jasper is around 50 years old. He is the director of the National Clandestine Services, a multi-national group that runs the "worlds' most powerful figures."

Last week, "The Blacklist'' Season 2 killed two of its main players, Alan Fitch and Berlin. It is likely that a new powerful opponent of Red may get introduced when the show returns to air its remaining episodes of the season. Before the bomb killed him, Fitch asked Red if he has the 'Fulcrum' and he mentioned that something is going to happen in 2017. Also, he gave Red a combination for his safe somewhere in St. Petersburg. All these elements are expected to be explored in the upcoming new episodes.

As previously reported, Entertainment Weekly (EW) has reported that the 'Fulcrum' may not be with Red and he intends to get it. But, there is someone else who is also interested in getting the 'Fulcrum' -- another Blacklister. The report also hinted that Liz may have some connection to this document or object or technology or some high-tech alien bomb. According to EW, when Red sets out to get the 'Fulcrum,' he will have to risk his life to protect Liz.
